About proxy exceptions

Connect Filter supports proxy exceptions when running in a remote location. Proxy exceptions are things that don't need to be redirected through the tunnel to the remote Smoothwall proxy server, for example:

  • Domains
  • Domains with wildcard characters, such as, *.smoothwall.net

    • Note: When using wildcard character domains, we recommend that you also add the non-wildcard character version as well. For example, smoothwall.com and *.smoothwall.com.

  • Host names
  • IP addresses

    • Note: URLs and IP address ranges should not be used as a Mobile Proxy exception.
