About Sections

Within Smoothwall Firewall pages, you can use sections to break up the list of rules for easier management. Sections don't interfere with the order that Smoothwall Firewall rules are applied. This remains in a top-down order and once a match is found, no further searching is made.

Default Sections

The rule sections made available to you are:

Section Name	Description
Migrated rules	Smoothwalls installed prior to the Inverness Castle release, have this section available by default. Rules found here are migrated from those deprecated administration user interfaces pages that previously handled traffic flow through the Smoothwall Firewall.
Default rules	This section contains those rules available by default.
Catch-all section	This section contains all rules that handle traffic that hasn't matched any of the preceding rules.
