Adding new interface connections
Note: With the Leeds-21 release you can add more than twenty interfaces. However, they won't be replicated on any child nodes.
Add bypass ports
If you're using a Smoothwall Filter and Firewall hardware appliance, specifically S4, S8, S10, S12 or S14, you can add bypass ports. Otherwise, the Global settings section doesn't appear:
- On the NETWORK menu, under the Configuration submenu, click Interfaces.
- Under the Global settings section, select the relevant port combination to short together and click Save changes.
Note: The combination of ports available for bypassing are grouped according to function on the Smoothwall Filter and Firewall hardware appliance and can't be changed.

- Click Add new interface and enter a meaningful Name for your interface.
