Working with Nodes
Note: This topic applies to the Edinburgh Release.
From the Overview page you can monitor the status of nodes, and update the software when needed.

You can view the status of all nodes from the parent node's central management Overview page.
To monitor node status:
| On the parent node, go to the System > Central management > Overview page. |
The parent node displays current node status.
Node information is contained in the following fields:
| Name — Provides the name of the node. |
Click on the name to log in to the node.
| Status — The Status field displays the current state of the node. |
Click on the Status text to display detailed information about the node. The following statuses are possible:
• | OK — The node is functioning and does not require attention. |
• | Critical — The node requires immediate attention. |
Click on the node’s status field for more information.
• | Warning – The node does not require immediate attention but should be checked for problems. |
Click on the node’s status field for more information.
| Installed release — Provides the name of the installed release for that node. |
Click the release name to view the log details for that node.
| Updates — If any updates are available for the installed release, click the provided link to go the Schedule page. |

1. | On the parent node, go to the System > Central management > Overview page. |
2. | Click the Updates tab. |
3. | Locate the relevant child node, and click the Status text of the node. |
You are taken to the Node details page.
4. | Click the Updates header to view the updates available. |
5. | To apply the updates to the node, click Schedule update. |
6. | In the Install updates area, select one of the following options: |
• | Now — Select to apply the updates to the node immediately. |
• | Later — From the drop-down list, select when you want the updates applied to the node. |
7. | Click Schedule update. The updates are applied to the node as specified in the previous step and the node is rebooted. |

Tip: The node reboots itself upon completing the update installation, so it may be preferable to schedule an installation time.
1. | From the parent node, go to System > Central management > Overview. |
2. | Locate and select the nodes that require updating. To select all nodes, select the checkbox in the header row. |
3. | Click Schedule release or Schedule update. depending on which update type is required |

• | The Release column indicates the installed release for that Node |
• | If you clicked Schedule update, you have an additional column, Update, which indicates the installed update for that Release |
4. | If you clicked Schedule release, from the Install release panel, choose one of the following: |
• | Now — Select to apply the release immediately. |
• | Later — From the drop-down list, choose a convenient time within the next 24 hour period to install the new release, and reboot the nodes. |
Click Schedule release.
5. | If you clicked Schedule update, from the Install updates panel, choose one of the following: |
• | Now — Select to apply the update immediately. |
• | Later — From the drop-down list, choose a convenient time within the next 24 hour period to install and reboot the nodes. |
Click Schedule update.

1. | From the parent node, go to System > Central management > Overview. |
2. | Click Clear schedule. |
You are taken to the Clear node schedule page.
3. | Click Clear schedule. |
All scheduled update and release installations, and reboots are canceled.

When required, you can reboot a child node from the parent node.
1. | From the parent node, go to System > Central management > Overview. |
2. | Click on the Status text for the node you want to reboot. |
You are taken to the Node details page.
3. | Click Reboot node. The Schedule node reboot page opens. In the Reboot node area, select one of the following options: |
• | Now — Select to reboot the node immediately. |
• | Later — From the drop-down list, select when you want to reboot the node. |
4. | Click Schedule reboot. The node is rebooted. |
