Adding the IDex Client to Smoothwall Interface

Communication between the IDex Client and the Smoothwall Filter and Firewall is via a nominated interface and TCP port combination. The IDex Client page is where you can specify this combination, noting the following:

• You should only use the IDex Client in trusted networks. Therefore, you can only select internal (Basic) interfaces.

• If you use a load balancer, you can use the virtual IP address assigned to the service as an IDex Client interface. You can configure such addresses in the Settings page before they can be used on the IDex Client page.
