Shaping policies Page
Use this page to determine the bandwidth allocated to several applications.
Navigation: BANDWIDTH > Control > Shaping policies.
Shaping Policies | |

Add new policy | Opens the Add new policy dialog box so that you can add a new bandwidth shaping policy. |
Show / Hide comments | Displays or hides the comments for each policy. |
Name | The meaningful name of the shaping policy. You might see an optional comment for this policy. You can view each policy’s comments by clicking Show comments in the Shaping policies table. |
Edit | Opens the Edit policy dialog box so that you can amend your policy details. This shows when you place your mouse over the policy. |
Delete | When you first delete a policy the Confirm delete dialog box opens so that you can delete the policy or cancel out. However, you can select to not see this confirmation and just delete the policy directly. |
Delete | Deletes all the selected policies. |
Application slices | |

Add new slice | Opens the Add new slice page so that you can add the details of a new slice to the policy. |
Show / Hide comments | If any comments are configured. Clicking this shows configured comments under the application slice name. |
Name | Enter a meaningful name for this application slice. |
Applications | Those relevant services for this application slice. |
Incoming relative weight | Configure an incoming bandwidth ratio as an integer between 1 and 100. |
Incoming cap | Configure an optional cap for incoming bandwidth used. This is either in kilobits per second (kbps) or megabits per second (Mbps). |
Outgoing relative weight | Configure an outgoing bandwidth ratio as an integer between 1 and 100. |
Outgoing cap | Configure an optional cap for outgoing bandwidth used. This is either in kilobits per second (kbps) or megabits per second (Mbps). |
Enabled | Leave this checked unless the application slice isn't going to be used. |
Edit | Opens the Edit slice dialog box so that you can amend the details of your policy slice. |
Delete | When you first delete a slice the Confirm delete dialog box opens so that you can delete the policy or cancel out. However, you can select to not see this confirmation and just delete the policy directly. |
Delete | Deletes all the selected slices. |
