Changing the system's host name and how it identifies itself to the network

Procedure

Tip: Typically, the host name includes the name of the domain that the Smoothwall Filter and Firewall hardware appliance is in.

1. On the SYSTEM menu, under the Preferences submenu, click Hostname.
2. Under the Hostname section, enter a Hostname.
3. To change so that the Smoothwall identifies itself to the network using its host name identification, under the Hostname section, from the System identification method list, select "Hostname" from the list.
4. Click Save changes.
5. Reboot the Smoothwall either by clicking the rebooted link under the Warning section that appears at the top of the page, or on the SYSTEM menu, under the Maintenance submenu, click Shutdown.
