Scheduler Page
Use this page to create and remotely archive automatic backups.
Navigation: SYSTEM > Maintenance > Scheduler.
Day |
The date of the week that the tasks are run. |
Hour |
The time of day at which the tasks are run. |
Prune archives |
How long the Smoothwall should keep archives before deleting them.
Don’t prune |
Archives are never deleted. |
Over a month |
Select this option to delete archives that are older than one month. This is the default option. |
Over 2 months |
Select this option to delete archives that are older than two months. |
Over 3 months |
Select this option to delete archives that are older than three months. |

Export public backup key |
Downloads the public key that you need to install on the remote destination server. |
Name |
The name for the destination. |
Username |
The user name of the account on the server that will be used. For additional security it is recommended that this user has no additional privileges and is only allowed write access to the specified Remote path. |
Remote path |
The path where archives are to be stored on the remote server, for example: /home/mypath/. |
Server |
The IP address of the SSH server. |
Port number |
The port number used to access the SSH server (normally port 22). |
Transfer speed limit |
The maximum transfer speed when automatic archiving occurs. This control is useful for preventing the automatic remote archiving system adversely affecting the performance of other network traffic. |

A description of this destination. |
Add |
Adds the destination with its configuration to the table and the Archive destination list under the Remote archival section. |
Name |
The name for the destination. |
Username |
The user name of the account on the server that will be used. For additional security it is recommended that this user has no additional privileges and is only allowed write access to the specified Remote path. |
Password |
The password for the user account on the server that will be used. |
Server and share name |
The domain and network folder to where the backup is to be saved. For example, \\10.0.11.134\share_name. |
Remote path |
The name of the folder in the network folder to where the backup is to be saved. For example, \name_share. |

The time of day to carry out the archive. |
Archive destination |
The destination as configured in either of the Remote destinations sections. |
Archive profile |
The archive profile as configured on the archives page. |
Enabled |
Turns on the backup schedule. |
Comment |
A description of the backup schedule. For example, weekly backup. |
Add |
Creates your scheduled backup. A local copy of the archive is also created and stored. |
