About user group access to user portals

For ease of access, you use your domain credentials (username and password) to log into the Smoothwall Filter and Firewall User Portal. The Smoothwall verifies this against those received from the configured directory connection (see the help topic, About directory services) hence why you only need to specify who is granted access.

Users belonging to the group specified for the user portal should come from a directory connection where the Smoothwall verifies their password with the directory server, such as Active Directory, RADIUS Directory). If users belong to a directory connection where the password is not "Smoothwall-verified", such as RADIUS Accounting, Google, or the IDex Directory, you can either:
